SABATTUS — Boy Scout Troop 110 has announced that Markus Hall of Sabattus has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Hall is the third scout in the troop’s history to achieve this award. He accomplished it by successfully progressing through the ranks from Cub Scouting through Boy Scouts.

Along the way he earned the Arrow of Light, the highest award issued in Cub Scouting. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow, the honor society within Boy Scouts which recognizes scouts for their service to the scouting program.

A major requirement for earning the rank of Eagle Scout is the Eagle Project. Markus designed and created a Memory Garden in honor of a late teacher in Sabattus. The Memory Garden is the centerpiece of the entrance to the Sabattus Central School.

Nationally, less than 1 percent of all Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Hall was formally honored for the achievement at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, held on April 25 at the Sabattus Central School.
