BUCKFIELD —  The newly formed Nezinscot Valley History Club at Buckfield High School is holding a bike trek this month to help pay for its trip to London in April 2011.

The club was formed this year by teacher Linda Andrews. The trip to London is to give students a taste of the city, she said. Students will visit the Tower of London, Parliament, Big Ben, theaters and other sights.

The bike trek is eight miles and begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 15, with a rain date of May 16. The trek will start at Hartford/Sumner Elementary School and go down Gammon Road to Town Farm Road and back. There will be a raffle drawn when riders return to the school.

The cost for students is $10 and adults $20. Registration is required by calling Debbie at 320-0211. All proceeds go to the Buckfield Junior/Senior High history club’s England Trip fund.
