Kids First

LEWISTON — Advocates for Children will offer Kids First – Parenting Through Separation and Divorce, a four-hour workshop designed to help parents address problems and promote reduction of negative effects of separation or divorce.

Participants are encouraged to attend the program as early in the separation or divorce process as possible. Classes are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays, May 8, June 12 and July 10. Cost is $60 and limited scholarships are available.

Rummage sale

AUBURN — A rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Barker Mill Arms, 143 Mill St., in the first floor Community Room. There will be 50/50 chances and food baskets. The kitchen will be open for donuts, coffee, homemade baked goods, hot dogs, chips and soda.

Legion meeting

AUBURN — The American Legion Alden Gayton Post 31 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 10, for social hour and dinner. The election and installation of officers will begin at 7 p.m. Any other legal business may be brought forward at that time. Lionel Koss, corp president, will preside. The Auxiliary will meet after dinner.

DAR meeting

LISBON FALS — Regent Sheila Desgrosseilliers has announced that the Burnt Meadow Chapter Daughters of The American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at the home of Jayne Bickford. Following the business meeting, a program on “Presidents of the 20th Century” will be presented. For more information, call 777-3125.

Bridge play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on April 27 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in flight A were: first, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; second, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; third, Patricia Quinn and Mary Leahey. Flight B winners were: first, Susan Kaluzynski and Donna Bartlett; second, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe. Flight C winners were Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe. Games are played at 9 a.m. Tuesdays.

The club also met on April 28 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: first, David Lock and Patricia Garcia; second, Philip and Marilyn Bird; third, Mike and Pat Quinn.
