Members of the High Peaks Alliance, Ben Godsoe, Maine Conservation Corps member and other volunteers picked up litter on Earth Day on multi-use trails, roads and streets in Phillips to help remove some of the trash left after the winter snows receded. The volunteers removed 12 big bags of trash in about five hours of work. The alliance is a local group interested in large landscape conservation and preserving public access to the back country. Godsoe is pictured in front of a trash-filled car near Toothaker Pond.
