PORTLAND — Kathi L. Poirier, 61, of Ridge Road, Bowdoinham, passed away on March 30, after a long illness at Maine Medical Center.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1948, in Lewiston, the daughter of Vernon and Molly (Rosendahl) Ruggles.

She was 1967 graduate of Edward Little High School, and Auburn Maine School of Commerce.

She enjoyed collecting turtles, crafts, decorating, going to camp, reading, being a Girl Scout leader, working with children, particularly special needs children and decorating the house for Christmas.

She sold Avon for many years, worked for the Times Record newspaper for 20 years and also a child care provider for many years.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen P. Poirier of Bowdoinham; son, Michael Poirier of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughter, Jennifer Allyn and her husband, Christopher, of Lisbon; mother, Molly R. Ruggles of Brunswick; grandsons, Sebastian Allyn and Arthur Peck-Moad; and several cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Vernon Ruggles; and son, Stephen P. Poirier Jr.

Burial took place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
