LEWISTON – South Lewiston Little League is hosting a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth at noon this Saturday, May 15.
Competitors age 7 to 14 have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2010 MLB All-Star Game.
Individual pitching, hitting and running champions will be awarded along with the all-around champion for girls’ and boys’ divisions in age groups 7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14. Winners will advance to the sectional level of competition the following week in Freeport.
The competition will be held at South Lewiston Little League fields, located on Martin Drive (across the street from Dunkin Donuts on Lisbon Street). Rain date is Sunday. For more information, please contact Bob Doyle at 212-7952 or email at [email protected].

South Lewiston Minor Softball
LEWISTON – All 11 girls chalked up at least one hit for Willow Run Dental in a South Lewiston minor league softball clash against Chandler Security. Sawyer Templeton and Abigail Nadeau were excellent defensively.
ASLL Minor Baseball
AUBURN – Tyler Libby led Rowe Ford with five hits, including a home run, in an Auburn Suburban Little League minor division baseball battle with Dillingham & Sons. Tanner Sturgis also had five hits, while Seth Kolreg and Nick Martinez had four hits each. Aaron Perkins, Robbie Marcotte and Chase Martin added three hits each. Boden Dock bolstered Dillingham with three hits. Giles Paradie, Josh White and John Koczkodan added two hits each.
