Retired Air Force Master Sgt. Archie Hodsdon, center, helped by his brother, Mexico police Sgt. Roy Hodsdon, both of Roxbury, attach American and POW-MIA flags to the town’s new flagpole Tuesday afternoon. Members of the Mexico Police Explorers Color Guard and Roxbury Fire Department stand at left. The flagpole and two flags were given to the town by an anonymous donor. State Rep. Sheryl Briggs, D-Mexico, announced the ceremony, attended by about 50 people, and read the donor’s message, saying, “This flag is donated to the Roxbury servicemen and women who have served and are serving in our military, keeping our country free.”
