Sue Bowie, pictured, volunteer administrator at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, recently spoke to the High Street Congregational Church Ladies Parish Guild about the many opportunities open for those interested in volunteering. Arrangements are made for each person to choose convenient days and times that will fit with personal schedules. There are more than 200 senior volunteers at CMMC and that number increases in the spring and fall when junior volunteers, ages 13 to 18, become available. Bowie handed out brochures and answered questions while joining the ladies for coffee and refreshments. She recently was cited for Excellence in Volunteer Administration and received a Governor’s Volunteer Service Award for 2010. The guild meetsat 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, at the church in Auburn.
