Girls’ lacrosse
RUMFORD — Ebony Mills punched in eight goals and earned a pair of assists as Oxford Hills easily dispatched Mountain Valley 20-8 in a girls’ lacrosse game Wednesday.
The Vikings (5-3) built a 9-4 lead by halftime, with Heather Knights scoring five goals and Hannah Wilson adding three for the game.
For Mountain Valley (2-5), Ayla Allen did her part, scoring seven goals. Teammate Heather Theriault added the other goal.
Boys’ lacrosse
Hebron 12, Landmark 8
Eric Banash lifted Hebron Academy from a slow start with five goals and an assists as the Lumberjacks defeated Landmark School (MA), 12-8, in a boys’ lacrosse quarterfinal of the New England small schools boys’ lacrosse tournament.
After an evenly-played first two quarters, Hebron began to pull ahead in the third period. Lonnie Taylor and Chris Gacsy each had 2 goals and 2 assists, and Kyle Bernier added 2 goals of his own. Levi Lincoln rounded out the scoring for Hebron, and Charles Evans and Cory O’Brien earned assists. Kyle Cordaro had a solid game in net, recording 20 saves.
The Lumberjacks advance to the semifinal round where they will match up against Pingree School in Pingree, MA.
