WILTON — This month’s mini-Third Thursday event will include the music of Mitch Thomas, the Mt. Blue Middle School Show Choir and a mime performance given by Academy Hill School fifth- and sixth-graders.

The performance is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the First Congregational Church, said Third Thursday committee member Stacey Damon.

Donations will be collected because this is a fundraiser for events planned during the June, July and August Third Thursday events, she said. Wilton Parents, Teachers, Friends will also sell baked goods.

A six-member committee has made plans to tweak the Third Thursday events. This year each one is themed, she said.

June’s event, “Dive into Summer,” will include a musical lineup along with crafters lining the sidewalks, activities for children, antique cars and the Farm and Home Museum open. A recycling relay is planned. Food vendors and downtown restaurants and some stores will be open, she said.

July’s Third Thursday, “Woodland Adventure,” will feature dual locations with activities split between the downtown area and Kineowatha Park. While music is on tap downtown along with the regular activities, fun at Kineowatha is also planned, she said. Tenters can test their skill by racing to put up their tents, woodsmen competitions and more are being planned.

Based on the television show, “Survivor,” the August’s Third Thursday, Island Adventure, will recreate some of the activities seen on the show including obstacle courses and a canoe joust at the foot of the lake, she said.
