FAIRFIELD — Kennebec Valley Community College held its 40th commencement exercises at the Augusta Civic Center on May 15, with 496 graduates.

The graduating class was the largest in the college’s history, and the crowd of graduates, family and friends gathered for the event filled the civic center auditorium.

President Barbara Woodlee, speaking at her last KVCC graduation before her retirement this summer, shared some lessons from her 26 years leading the college. Maine State Sen. Justin Alfond, (D-Portland) was the keynote speaker for the event.
