HALLOWELL — The Maine Beverage Company will once again partner with the Maine Grocers Association to allow the MGA Scholarship Program to award five $1,000 scholarships in 2010.
High school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are children of full-time employees of firms which are members of MGA or part-time student employees of firms which are members of MGA, are eligible to apply.
Winners will be chosen on the basis of financial need, academic merit, involvement in community and school activities and career goals, especially those that relate to business and the grocery industry. The winners will be notified in June. Winners must enroll as full-time students in the fall of 2010.
A scholarship application request form may be obtained by calling the MGA office at 622-4461 or by downloading an application from the MGA website, www.mainegrocers.org. The form must be completed and faxed or e-mailed to the MGA office by May 31, or mailed to the MGA office postmarked by May 31.
