RUMFORD — Auditions for the Rumford Public Library’s Children’s Theatre summer play will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, June 1 and 3, in the library’s public room.

This year’s play will be the Hans Christian Andersen classic “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” It will be directed by Susan DeRoehn, who is in her second year as Children’s Theatre director.

“The Emperor”s New Clothes” is a comedy about a young boy who tries to fool the emperor in order to make some easy money, and is filled with laughs, music and audience interaction. There are small, medium and large roles for both boys and girls, as well as opportunities for extras.

Stage performers will be children ages 5 to 15. Older teens are also needed to participate in the program, to help with choreography, stage and tech work, prompting, assistant directing and backstage help.

The show will be presented to the public in matinee and evening performances on Thursday, July 29. For more information, contact Susan DeRoehn at 418-7813 or Mrs. Todd at the library at 364-3661.
