BRUNSWICK — Ralph B. Anderson, 87, of Governors Way, died Wednesday, May 19, at Mid Coast Hospital, after a very sudden illness.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass., Aug. 21, 1922, the son of the late Rolf and Ruth (Cleaves) Anderson. He proudly served his country for three years in the U.S. Army during World War II as an air traffic controller. He married Edith M. Bryant on Oct. 30, 1946, who predeceased him in 2006. He worked as deputy chief of finance at Loring Air Force Base for 17 years.

He had a passion for learning and was interested in history, science and economics. He advanced his knowledge of stock market technical analysis in later years and took advantage of the current computer technology in those endeavors.

He leaves three sons, Jeffrey Anderson and his wife, Ann, of Brunswick, Dana Anderson and his wife, Jeanne, of Augusta and Kenneth Anderson and his wife, Debbie, of Brunswick; two daughters, Gail Lane and her husband, Richard, of Litchfield and Dawn Stevenson and her husband, William, of Winthrop; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
