RUMFORD — A half-dozen Rumford firefighters, an engine and a ladder truck were at the scene of a Congress Street business Friday afternoon following the report of smoke in a business known as Kingmaker Games.

Business owner Shannon Couture reported the smoke at about 4 p.m. Firefighters checked the interior of that business, as well as an adjacent business and a restaurant on the Exchange Street side of the block, using a thermal camera and other equipment, said Deputy Chief Ben Byam.

Firefighters cleared the scene at about 5:15 p.m. Byam said he and Couture will check back at the site later in the evening.
