WILTON —  Wilton Police began an investigation in to the death of a 24-year-old mother and resident of the Arkay Trailer Park, located off Main Street, Monday morning.

Detectives from the Maine State Police Criminal Investigation Division were also called to the scene, according to Wilton Police Chief Dennis Brown.

Police responded to an ambulance call for an unresponsive 24-year-old woman on Monday morning, Brown said.

Friends, relatives and neighbors had gathered in the trailer park by noon as police waited for the state investigators to arrive.

Brown said no other information was being released.

Relatives of the woman, at the scene said the she had a medical issue yesterday but seemed fine. Those on the scene also said the dead woman is the mother of two young girls.
