SOUTH CHINA — Kayla Nadeau belted an RBI single in the sixth inning to drive in Miranda Martin and lift Edward Little to a 5-4 win over Erskine in a softball game Monday.

Martin and Nadeau led the Red Eddies (10-3) with two hits each, while together they drove in three runs.

Sam Morse went the distance for Erskine (10-4), allowing seven hits in seven innings of work.

Cony 16, Lewiston 4
LEWISTON — Emily Soule scattered seven hits and received ample run support as Cony hustled to a 16-4 victory over Lewiston in KVAC softball action Monday.

The Rams (9-5) erupted for seven runs in the third frame, sparked by a home run from Liz Barker. Amy Jones also smacked a home run for Cony in the sixth, while Barker led the squad with four hits and two RBIs.

The Blue Devils (0-13) were led by Marissa Zanoni with an RBI triple in the fourth inning. Katie Dumais went the distance and suffered the loss.

Telstar 12, Madison 0
BETHEL — Kayla Merrill struck out nine and walked none as Telstar cruised to a 12-0 romp over Madison in a MVC softball contest Monday.

T.J. Cowin led the undefeated Rebels (12-0) with two hits and two RBIs, while Lyndsay Merrill also belted a pair of hits.

Emilee Berry went the distance for Madison (4-9) and was tagged with the loss.

Livermore Falls 8, Mountain Valley 1

LIVERMORE FALLS — Winning pitcher Kaitlyn Townsend threw a one-hitter and Livermore Falls took advantage of 12 walks with 10 hits, beating Mountain Valley 8-1 in a softball game Monday.

Marisa Welch went 2-for-2 and scored a pair of runs and Katherine Lake had two hits, scored two runs and earned an RBI.

The Andies’ Katherine Ventrella punched in an RBI double in the five-run third inning.

Leavitt 10, Waterville 0

TURNER — Winning pitcher Adrie Newton struck out six batters and Leavitt erupted for seven runs thanks to five walks, an error and a hit batter in the first inning as the Hornets walloped Waterville, 10-0, in a softball game Monday.

The Hornets (4-9) used eight hits to their advantage and Newton was equally impressive at the plate with a pair of hits and earning an RBI.

For Waterville, Jenna Gagnon doubled.

Oxford Hills 5, Morse 0
PARIS — Heather Verrier scattered three hits and drew adequate run support as Oxford Hills rolled to a 5-0 victory over Morse in a KVAC softball tilt Monday.

Dana Schultz and Mariah Martin led the Vikings (8-5) with two hits apiece, while Emma Seeley led the Shipbuilders with two hits.

St. Dom’s 11, Winthrop 8
AUBURN — Hannah Sterling hurled seven innings of six-hit ball as St. Dom’s hustled to a 11-8 win over Winthrop in KVAC softball action Monday.

Mary Caron ignited a big five-run third frame for the Saints (7-6). Caron belted an RBI triple to get that rally started.

The Ramblers were led by Sarah Slaherey with two hits and one RBI, while Amy Belanger went the distance on the mound.

Poland 3, Yarmouth 2

POLAND — Cassie Mocciola had two hits and triggered Poland’s (4-9) two-run rally in the fifth inning as the Knights shook off Yarmouth, 3-2, in a softball game Monday.

Yarmouth (7-7) led 1-0 for five innings before the Knights got two runs in the fifth and added another in the sixth for good measure.

Poland’s Stephanie Spaulding had two hits and Celeste Knowles doubled and picked up an RBI. Sara Sands went the distance on the mound and got the win for Poland.

Monmouth 8, Boothbay 3

BOOTHBAY — Kristi Holton recorded three hits as Monmouth sailed to an 8-3 victory over Boothbay in softball action Monday.

Reen Kahl assisted the Mustangs on offense with a double. Bri Hicks struck out six and walked only one to earn the pitching victory for Monmouth.

Meghan Smith struck out eight and walked four for Boothbay.

G-NG 5, Fryeburg 4

FRYEBURG — Alicia Valente scored on a passed ball to lift Gray-New Gloucester to a 5-4 victory over previously undefeated Fryeburg in WMC softball action Monday.

The Patriots (10-2) received some fine pitching from Laura Getchell, who fanned 10 batters to earn the mound win.

Fryeburg (12-1) catcher Carla Tripp posted four hits on offense, while picking off two Patriot baserunners in the hard luck loss.

Lacrosse

EL 15, Mountain Valley 7

AUBURN — Saydi Voisine dropped in five goals and teammate Shelbea Russell had three goals and one assist as Edward Little overpowered Mountain Valley, 15-7, in a girls’ lacrosse game Monday.

The Red Eddies (2-7) jumped out to an 8-4 lead after the first half. Sam Dean, Miranda Casey, Gabby LaPerriere, Katie Williamson, Kate Sawyer, Hannah Johnston and Courtney Pelletier each scored a goal.

For the Falcons (2-6), Ayla Allen led the charge with four goals, and Elizabeth Glover had two and Tia White tallied one.
