STRONG — The Strong Public Library will offer a summer reading program from June 19 to Aug. 21. This year’s theme will focus on water and its importance to all life.

Children, age 5 to 12, will “make a splash” from 9 to 10 a. m. Saturdays, at the library. Along with weekly reading commitments, children will participate in activities and games.

Teens, age 13 to 18, will “make waves” at the library by reviewing books and/or participating in a blog found on the library’s website. Each book reviewed gives them a chance to win a prize, and they can enter a sea serpent art contest.

Even adults can “water their minds.” For each book read and reviewed, they will be entered into a drawing for prizes donated by area businesses to be given out at the end of the program.

Registration for the program will begin Tuesday, June 1 and ends Saturday, June 12. Participants must be registered in order to win prizes. Registration forms are available at the library, town office, Strong Elementary School and Mt. Abram High School.

The reading program schedule can be found at www.strong.lib.me.us. For more information, call 684-4003 or e-mail stronglibrary@strong.lib.me.us.
