PORTLAND — On May 22, News 8 WMTW-TV was recognized with a 2010 Emmy Award for Best Newscast, the top news honor from the 2009 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, New England region. It was News 8’s third consecutive Emmy Award for Best Newscast in New England.
News 8 was recognized as the top newscast for television stations, (market size 50+), in the New England region; it includes stations from Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island. The Emmy award is administered by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and is awarded as recognition for excellence in the television industry.
In April, News 8 WMTW-TV also received the Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast.
