JAY — Two employees from the Jay Police Department were recognized for their outstanding service. The awards were presented at a department meeting on Wednesday.
Donna Ladd, who is the department’s secretary, was awarded the department’s Professionalism award. Ladd always displays strong work values and displays a positive attitude toward her work and her peers. She is always willing to help anyone in the department with any task, and the department is very grateful to have such an outstanding and dedicated secretary, said Jay Police Chief Larry G. White, Sr.
Officer Michael Mejia was awarded the Employee of the Year award. Mejia always displays a positive attitude at work and high standards of professional behavior, he said
Officer Mejia serves as one of the department’s Firearms Instructors and is also a state certified Drug Recognition Expert. He also is one of the department computer technicians and assists in managing the department’s software programs. He is a team player and is well respected by his peers and supervisors.
“The department is very proud to have both Donna and Officer Mejia as members of our proactive team of the Jay Police Department,” White said.
