A strapping Middle Street woman proved to be somewhat of a scrapper as well. Tuesday noon when, after having imbibed too freely of liquor, it is alleged, she sailed into her husband and family and then when Police Officer Albee started to calm the domestic troubles, she got after him as well, landing several stiff body blows and swings to the head. It was only with difficulty that the woman was taken to the station where she remained over night.

50 years ago, 1960

Someone with a penchant for piano rolls apparently is responsible for a breakin reported last night to Auburn police.

Police said a vacant former store owned by Vincent Bilodeau was broken into and a large number of piano rolls taken.

Mrs. Delores Bilodeau, mother of the owner, told police that she had about 300 of the rolls at the front of the building but that about half of them are now gone.

25 years ago, 1985

Lewiston native Camille J. Goulet Jr. has been promoted to vice president of electronic banking services for Citibank-Citicorp of New York.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Camille J. Goulet Sr. of Sabattus St., Lewiston, Goulet graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School, then received a bachelor’s degree from Bates College and a master’s degree in business administration from New York University.
