During the past 20 years, I have had the opportunity to work with most of the candidates running in this June’s Democratic primary.
I decided to endorse Pat McGowan because I believe that he has the balanced experience needed to be an effective governor. He has lived in Maine all his life — he was born in Bangor and grew up in rural central Maine — he has hunted and fished all his life and he has run several small businesses in the area.
He is also a proven campaigner. People may remember the close campaigns he ran against Olympia Snowe for Congress in 1990 and 1992.
I believe he has the experience, vision and skills needed to move Maine forward. The Democratic primary is June 8 and I hope others will join me in supporting Pat McGowan for Maine.
