Thirty local residents, including 16 students from the criminal justice program at Central Maine Community College, completed the Law Enforcement Pre-Service program in early May. Offered at CMCC in conjunction with the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, the course is intended to provide training and instruction to prepare students for tasks performed by local law enforcement officials. Anyone who wishes to work as a part-time police officer in Maine must successfully complete the program. A ceremony and reception was held for the graduates in Kirk Hall.
