Yard sale

HEBRON — The East Hebron Extension Homemakers will have a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at McCafferty’s Greenhouse, Townsend Road. The sale will be held rain or shine.

Run by the lake

HARRISON — The Harrison Recreation Department’s 5K Run By the Lake will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 7. The race will be followed by an awards ceremony and refreshments. 

Walkers are welcome. Race proceeds will fund year-round activities and provide scholarships to children for the summer Recreation Program. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 preregistrants. Register on line at runreg.com or active.com.

Church events

EAST SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner has announced events for June. On Saturday, June 5, at 5:30 pm, there will be a barbecue chicken supper and hymn sing in honor of men; donations will benefit church repairs. A movie night featuring “Nim’s Island” will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12. Free admission and refreshments will be for sale.

Earle Simpson will present the sermon at the worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 13. A senior luncheon and bingo will be held at noon Wednesday, June 16. Admission is a candy bar or can of fruit. Children are welcome.

Nature club

SOUTH PARIS — The Twin Town Nature Club will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, June 7, in the DHS parking lot, north of Rite Aid. Attendees will carpool to visit the garden of Marion Chase in Waterford, have a picnic lunch and visit Ordway Grove in Norway. Visitors are welcome. Friends Sunday

SOUTH PARIS — Friends Sunday will be observed at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 6, at the First Congregational Church. Visitors are always welcome, but twice a year the church hosts a Friends Sunday to invite old and new friends to visit the church.

In addition to Sunday worship, the church offers bible study at 9:30 a.m. and at 6:30 p.m., and a Healing-Prayer-Support group that meets at 3 p.m. Thursday. These services are held in the Haskell House, next to the church.
