Kitten shower

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, will have a Kitten Shower from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 6. A kitten shower is a baby shower for the new kitten arrivals.

A donation of litter, food or kitten toys is appreciated. All are welcome to meet the kittens, learn more about owning a kitten and play some games.

Board meeting

LEWISTON — Community Concepts Inc. will hold its annual board of directors meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at DaVinci’s Restaurant, 150 Mill St. All meetings are open to the public. For more information, call 739-6564.

Public supper

JAY — A free public supper will be held on Saturday, June 12, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Main Street. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and the meal will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include roast pork, soup, vegetables, bread, drink and desserts.

The building is handicapped accessible at the elevator inside the rear door. Donations are welcome, but not necessary. Call Mike, supplies chairman, at 779-6951.

Farm guide

FARMINGTON — The 2010 edition of “Mabel’s Book: Western Maine’s Guide to Farms and Farm Markets” is now available. Published by the Western Mountains Alliance with annual support from businesses and nonprofits in the region, the book has information on more than 80 farms and farm markets.

The book features information on where to get local food, where to find farms that accept WIC and EBT cards and what’s in season.

The free guide is available at area stores, libraries and town offices or by contacting the Western Mountains Alliance at 778-3885 or [email protected]. The book is also available for download by visiting www.westernmountainsalliance.org.
