DIXFIELD — John F. “Jack” Adams, 95, formerly of Dixfield and husband of the late Priscilla Stowell Adams, died Oct. 26, 2009 in Canton, Ga. He was born Oct. 27, 1913, in Arlington, Mass., the son of Frank A. and Eleanor O. Adams. He was a retired Naval Commander during WWII and retired from Maine National Bank.

He was a member of King Hiram Masonic Lodge in Dixfield and was a member of the Shriners of North America. He was also a member of the Thomas A. Edison Congregational Church of Fort Myers, Fla.

Survivors include his son, Dr. John F. Adams, Jr. of Bernard; his daughter, Anne A. Barbuto of Canton, Ga.; a brother, Frank O. Adams, of Winchester, Mass.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
