JAY — The School Committee reappointed Gilbert Eaton on Thursday as interim high school principal for July 1 to June 30, 2011, school Superintendent Robert Wall said Friday.
Eaton of Livermore Falls, a retired principal and superintendent, will be paid on a per diem basis of $320 a day for 210 days, Wall said. It comes out to $67,200, he said.
Other action on Thursday included nonunion support staff getting a 2.75 percent increase for the coming year, he said.
However, they also agreed to up their contribution to their health insurance coverage plan, he said, which is an offset to the raise. It doesn’t completely offset it, he said, but it does some.
Those in the group include the business manager, curriculum and central office assistant, special education administrative assistant and payroll.
Two positions that were in the group were eliminated through the budget process this year, Wall said.
The health insurance contributions increase from 12 percent to 13 percent for a single; adult with child and two-person plans both went from 15 percent to 16 percent; and a family plan went from 17 percent to 18 percent, he said.
