Cub Scouts from Pack 130 recently completed a Wildlife Conservation Project during the Lake Pennesseewassee Park Spring Clean Up and Family Fun Fitness Day, held the first Saturday in May each year. The Scouts placed three cedar bird nesting boxes in the park. The box is for the black-capped chickadee and is also compatible with blue birds, tufted titmice, nut hatches and warblers. The Scouts will provide a minimum of annual maintenance, however each scout will be trained on the required maintenance such that they can check on the boxes and perform maintenance at a greater frequency. Pictured from left are Travis Martel, Dennis Bowden Jr., Noah Martel, Jeff Burnham, Jordan Burnham, Dennis Bowden III, Jacob Paar, Pat Paar and Joshua Burnham; absent from the picture, Wolf Scout Andrew Binette and father Mike Binette.
