LEWISTON — Dolores M. Benoit, 88, of St. Croix St., Lewiston, died Friday, June 4, at Montello Manor, following a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston on April 14, 1922, a daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Therrien) Pratt. She was educated in Lewiston schools. Dolores married Richard L. Benoit on Feb. 10, 1944, and he predeceased her in 1987.
She worked at Raytheon and local shoe shops, Hana and Dorie Shoe and then went on to work for Dion Distributors. She was a long time member of Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed camping, knitting and sewing and was known for her wonderful cooking.
She leaves two daughters, Patricia A. Benoit-Allen and her husband, Dennis, of Cumberland and Claire I. Vermette and her husband, Stephen, of Lewiston; a sister, Georgette Giroux of Lewiston; sisters-in-law, Veronica Pratt of Lewiston, Jeannette Dion and husband, Robert, of Florida and Priscille Benoit and husband, John, of Bangor; a son-in-law, Mozart Bouchard of Lewiston; grandchildren, Michelle Bouchard and her fiance, Shawn Higgs and Rebecca Vermette and her fiance, Andrew Crockett; and great-grandchildren, Jericho, Olivia, Jacob, Chelsea, Jonathan and Emma.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Constance Bouchard.
