MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Dorothy M. Lary, 98, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Tuesday, June 8, at National Healthcare of Garden City in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

She was born in Blissfield, New Brunswick, Canada, and was the daughter of the late Wordlow and Alice Gilks. She was a member of Livermore United Methodist Church in Livermore and attended Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, S.C. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star Order in Saco and was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Mahlon L. Lary and wife, Marie, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; a daughter, Joy Heird and husband, Toby, of Pawleys Island; grandchildren, Scott (Vena) Lary, Dr. Steven (Jane) Lary, Sherri (Paul) King, Sandra Lary and fiancé, Albert Lane, Susan (Clint) Boothby, James (Nancy) Heird, David (Pam) Heird; 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ebbie Lary; two brothers, Lawrence Gilks and Lloyd Gilks; sisters, Helen Lyons, Pauline Randall and Ada Howard; and a daughter-in-law, Beverly Bell Lary.
