AUBURN — The timeless history of the pancake began in ancient times, when the simplest form of cooking was to heat batter in a pan or on a stone over direct heat. Pancakes, one of the earliest forms of bread, were not called pancakes until some time in the late 1800s. Still, no matter what the name, pancakes were enjoyed all over the world and still are today.
Every year since 1957, The Kiwanis Club of Auburn-Lewiston has provided enjoyment to generations of families at its all you can eat pancake breakfast.
