LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has listed programs for June.

The Women’s Health Class will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, with a focus on diabetes prevention and management, led by Michelle Allen and Brook Beal, an educator and dietitian from St. Mary’s Center for Diabetes.

Health and wellness “one on ones” continue to be scheduled at 10 a.m. on alternate Monday mornings. They include blood pressure and weight checks, and conversation about how to improve well-being. A monthly women’s reproductive health clinic, staffed by Western Maine Community Action, is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, June 30.

The program called Y.A.N.A. (You Are Not Alone) continues at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Other ongoing groups include Wisdom Circle and Strong Women. A writer’s workshop is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Mondays.

For those interested in African drumming, a group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 24. Participants may bring a drum or other rhythm instrument if they have one. A meditation class will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 11. This month’s focus, led by Klara Tammany, will be on walking meditation.

Other regular activities include scrapbooking, painting and card-making. All programs at the center are free, no registration required.
