AUBURN — The Auburn Education Association held its annual retirement tea on May 5, at the United Methodist Church of Auburn dining room. The event was catered by association retirees Gladys Chapman and Pam MacDonald, assisted by Avis Grant. Association members and their guests had a social hour and buffet before the formal program.
Timothy Wegmann, association co-president, presided. A speaker introduced each retiree, summarizing their special contributions to education.
Honorees included: Cathy Veilleux, honored by Barbara Boulet; Margaret Lane, honored by Susan Weiss; Robert Crosby, honored by Patti Vierra; Jackie Strong, honored by Amy Heimerl; Carrie Beaulieu, honored by Joanie Simard and Marie Dostie; Diane Biondi, honored by Celeste Beaudet and Janet Morse; Rick Shea, honored by Marine Shea; and Tony Augello, honored by Vesta Rand.
Each retiree received a clock in recognition of their service to Auburn education.
