RANGELEY — Hours of workouts and strain have come to an end for the competitors.
The staff at the Rangeley Rehab and Wellness Pavilion have announced the winners of the first ever five-month-long Superman and Wonder Woman fitness competition.
In the Superwoman category Shirley Schrader took top honors, with Tracy Dresser claiming second place and Jill Crosby third. Matt Viehmann earned the Superman title, followed by Ben Wetherill.
The competition, designed by Fitness Director Jeff Hawksley, was made up of five physically demanding assessments that the participants were tested in monthly. Winners were determined by percentage of improvement over the five tests as well as points earned for high scores on the test.
The Wellness Pavilion has been running the Rangeley Better For Life weight management and lifestyle change competition for several years. The Superman and Wonder Woman program was designed for the more fit and experienced exercisers who wanted to bring their fitness to a higher level.
