FARMINGTON — Mark A. Ross, 54, of Wilton, passed away unexpectedly at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington on June 9.

He was born Sept. 8, 1955 in Farmington, the son of Leon and Patricia (Gleason) Ross. He attended Mt. Blue High School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1974. After high school, Mark joined the U.S. Navy until Dec. 1977. In May 1978 he met Linda Rundlett, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1998, after courting her for 20 years. Mark worked for G.H. Bass for 26 years and then for Mountain Mechanical in Strong up until his passing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time riding ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and anything else he could find to do outdoors. His pride and joy was his granddaughter, Gracie Michael Gerdin.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda Ross; two sons, Eric and Christopher Ross, of Wilton; a granddaughter, Gracie Michael Gerdin; his father, Leon Ross, and his companion, Doris Philbrick; his mother, Patricia Ross-Blackstone, and stepfather, Raymond, of Pleasant Ridge Plantation; a maternal grandmother, Beverly Watson, of Lincoln; his sister, Carole Shepard, and her husband, David, of Hallowell; his brother, Fred Ross, and his wife, Cindy, of Bowdin; brother, Leigh Ross, of Sabattus; Carol Jean Thibault of Gardiner; Judy Butters and her husband, Eric, of Ellsworth; Ray Jr. of Portland; Brian James of Strong; several other stepbrothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Mark was predeceased by his grandparents, Howard and Mattie Ross; brother, Dean Michael Ross; grandfather, Jackie Gleason; and stepgrandfather, Forrest Eastbrook.
