The Lewiston Planning Board Tuesday endorsed a proposal to rezone a parcel of land off Lisbon Street near Martel School from residential 8 to transitional to allow a $2.5 million, 48-unit housing development to be built.

After expressing concern about traffic patterns and the impact on the nearby school, the Planning Board voted 6-0 to rezone a 2.2 acre parcel of land on Marston Street.

If the City Council adopts the Planning Board’s recommendation, Portland developer L. J. Wishcamper will be able to proceed with his proposal, planned for completion sometime in the summer of 1986.
