E. NORRITON, Pa.  — Oliver Daniel Welch passed away on Friday, June 4, at Mercy Suburban Hospital in E. Norriton, Pa. He was 83.

He was a resident of Skippack, Pa. and formerly of King of Prussia, Pa. He was a retired accountant and former tax collector for Upper Merion Township, retiring in 1997.

He was a graduate of Bentley College in Boston, Mass. He was a past president of the Valley Forge Optimist Club, a past commander of Swasey-Torrey American Legion Post 100 in Dixfield, and past treasurer of the Creekwood Village in Skippack.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II from 1945 to 1946. Born in Dixfield on May 1, 1927, he was a son of the late Percy and Emma Welch.

Surviving are his loving family, including his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Welch of Skippack, Pa.; two sons, Todd M. Welch and his wife, Gloria, of Harleysville, Pa., and Jay R. Welch and his wife, Debra, of Cut Bank, Mont.; a daughter, Leslie W. Ingram and her husband, Ronald, of Sanatoga, Pa.; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Mathew and Jeremy; a brother, Ditson Welch of Dixfield; and a nephew and niece, Eric and Melissa Welch, both of Maine.
