NAPLES, Fla. — O’Neil Albert Levasseur, 72, of Lewiston and Naples, Fla., died unexpectedly at his Naples home on May 30.
Born Dec. 7, 1937, in Grand Isle, he was the son of the late O’Neil and Imelda Levasseur. O’Neil was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and owned his own barbershop and upholstery business in Lewiston for many years.
He was an avid billiards player and enjoyed talking and visiting with his many friends in Naples, his residence for the past 20 years. He made frequent trips to Maine to visit his family.
He leaves behind one son, Marc Levasseur, and his wife, Tammy, of Jupiter, Fla.; two daughters, Tammy Dow and her husband, Alfred “Bunky” Dow of Trenton, and Cynthia Thurston and her fiancé, Dylan, of Bar Harbor; three grandsons, Jonathan Dow, Kyle Levasseur and Bradley Thurston; and five granddaughters, Chelsea Dow, Morgan Thurston, Abigail and Emily Levasseur, and Sophia Anderson. He cherished each one of his grandchildren, each holding a special place in his heart. He also left behind sisters-in-law, Venice Lachance and Pauline Levesque; and brother-in-law, Ronald Lachance.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Irene Levasseur; and grandson, Jonathan Dow.
