Verso Paper Corp.’s Androscoggin Mill in Jay has received the 2010 “Work Healthy Silver Level Award” from Healthy Community Coalition, an affiliate of Franklin County Health Network. The presentation of the award was made at the monthly Jay-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting June 4. Shown with the award are, from left, Nate Morse with Healthy Community Coalition, Sandy Bryant with Verso health services, Mike Luciano with Verso human resources, Jef Howell with Verso purchasing and Cherilee Budrick with Verso communications. The Androscoggin Mill has received this award for the past three years for efforts Verso has made to keep employees safe and healthy. Efforts include Verso’s smoking and tobacco cessation programs that have turned the Jay campus into an entirely tobacco-free zone, and safety training, stretching practices and exercise encouragement with a gym on site.
