Ron Simard of Auburn serves up a batch of pancakes to Jennifer Kimble and her 4-year-old daughter Katy of Auburn during the Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club 53rd annual pancake breakfast in Auburn on Sunday. Kiwanis members and 30 volunteers cooked enough pancakes and sausage to feed between 2,000 and 3,000 people, said breakfast Chairman Dan Goff. Marc Mailhot and his wife Darlene arrived at 4:30 a.m. with more than 6,000 sausage links and began to turn the stoves on. Ron Bellemore and his wife Helen were is charge of cooking the breakfast sausage, something Ron has been doing for 20 years. Goff said the money raised will go into the club’s community service fund, which assists the Kiwanis’ priority of helping children. “Today is a perfect day,” said Goff. Pancake chefs next to Simard are John Cronin and John Nyberg, both of Auburn.
