ALBANY TOWNSHIP — Mildred M. Allen, 83, of Albany Township, went home to be with her family on June 8.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1926 in Poquonock, Conn. She was the daughter of Mildred E. (Rogers) Brooks and Amos O. Brooks. She was married to Glenn E. Hazelton from Nov. 15, 1947 until his passing on Dec. 7, 1971. She was married to Alfred E. Allen from June 14, 1975 until his passing on Sept. 4, 2004.

She lived and raised her children in West Paris. She ran a day care center in her home and loved many children who still call her mom. She enjoyed camping at Island Falls and traveling on bus tours. She had a special place in her heart for her family. She really enjoyed going to her grandson’s baseball and hockey games. She had fun taking her grandchildren camping.

She is survived by her son, Ronald G. Hazelton of Florence, Texas; daughters, Darlene S. Nicholas of Beltsville, Md., Judith L. Harrington of Stratham, N.H., Kathleen M. Benson of Bethel and Lori J. Hill of Waterford. She has two stepchildren, Vaikko Allen of Augusta and Helen Brown of Casco. She leaves ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves 14 step-grandchildren; and 22 step-great-grandchildren. She will be sadly and greatly missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands, two brothers and two sisters.
