JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima met for a business meeting on June 9.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Regent Laurie Gagnepain. The group was led in the restoration of the Rosary by Chancellor Laurieanne Castonguay. Next, the Daughters held a ceremony for deceased member, Fernande Duguay and also for Christine Harlow. A candle was lit for each and a prayer was said.
The opening ode was sang, followed by the presentation of the flag. A Short Form Conferral was held for new Daughter Mary Chassie. The minutes were read by Past Regent Jackie Castonguay. There were no new applications for membership or transfers.
Jackie Castonguay also read thank you cards that were received. Gagnepain reminded everyone of the mock baby shower at the June social. Any daughter who is attending the social should bring in a baby item. She also thanked everyone who helped at the baccalaureate, and those that cleaned up the cemetery.
The group spoke about the Fall Bazaar which will be held Oct. 9. Donated items are needed for the raffle. They talked about the summer outing; any Daughter who wanted to go to needed to sign the paper that Denise Rozden brought. Anyone attending the outing should bring in a nonperishable item for the basket that will be raffled off at the Bazaar. Shirley Couture also spoke about the theme baskets that need to be ready for the Fall Bazaar.
The parish picnic will be held Sunday, Aug. 8 and St. Josephs Church will join St. Rose. Gagnepain also reported that the group won the Crown Award at the off-year meeting. The meeting came to an end at 8 p.m.
