LISBON — Two drivers were taken to hospitals after a chain-reaction accident on Route 196 on Monday.
Officer Darin Estes identified the drivers as Tara Hurley, 20, of Bath, Barbara Beedy, 62, of Livermore and Stephen Chapman, 43, of Winslow. The women complained of pain and were taken to Brunswick hospitals, he said.
Estes said Beedy and Chapman were stopped for traffic when Hurley, who was traveling behind, was unable to stop in time striking Beedy’s car and pushing it into Chapman’s. The accident occurred at the Oak Street intersection.
Damage was estimated at $3,000 to Hurley’s 2005 Honda van, $2,000 to Beedy’s 1998 Mercedes and $100 to Chapman’s 2003 Honda.
