BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Arts Council is undertaking the development of its board of directors and is seeking to add a limited number of new board members from the Greater Bethel area. The council looking for people who are interested in supporting the advancement of the arts and humanities in the adult communities and school systems of the area through community and educational programming in performing and visual arts.

Throughout it’s 24-year history, the council has presented hundreds of programs which have been provided to thousands of students and thousands of visitors and residents. Some of the programs include the Gould Performing Arts Series, the Bethel Art Fair, the ARTirondack Auction and the SAD 44 Elementary, Middle and High school performing arts series and Artist-in-Residence programs.

Those interested in learning more about the council are invited to attend the annual meeting of the board of directors at 6 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the Foothills Grille on Main Street. To register, call 824-3575, e-mail [email protected] or mail to P.O. Box 534, Bethel, ME 04217.

Upon confirmation of registration, attendees will be sent a package containing information including the council’s strategic plan, board governance, a matrix defining the viability of the programming and a brief budget statement.
