ANDOVER – Nettie M. Fitzpatrick, 74, a resident of Newton Street in Andover, died Tuesday, June 15, in Andover.
Born in Rumford on March 26, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Verna (Moore) Freeman. She was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford with the class of 1954 and attended the University of Maine at Augusta. She served in the United States Navy from1955 to 1956.
She served as a volunteer for many organizations including, the Beacon House in Rumford, Covenant House in New York, Girl Scouts of America, AWAP, the local food pantry and New York Police Athletic League. She was an adventurer who loved to travel on a moment’s notice. She loved to spend time with her family and especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was married in Kingsville, Texas on October 5, 1956, to the late Eugene Fitzpatrick. Survivors include her daughters, Kathleen Glover and her husband, Butch, of Andover, Joan Timmes and her husband, David, of Astoria, N.Y., Kelly Scotti and her husband, Peter, of Andover, Susan Fitzpatrick of Rumford and Lynne Lopez and her husband, Michael, of Miami, Fla., grandchildren, Heather and Maureen Glover, Jennifer Timmes, Denise, Thomas and Stephen Scotti, Jonathan McCaffrey and Michael and Ashley Lopez; great-grandchildren, Noah and Grace McCurdy and Bella Rose Lopez; sisters, Claire McLendon and her husband, William, of Hazlehurst, Ga. and Joanne Blanchard of Decatur, Tenn.; brother, Randy Freeman and his wife, Marie, of Rumford; and her longtime companion, Raymond Chase of Hanover.
