PERU —Three people were injured when they were ejected from an open-topped Jeep that partially rolled over on Burbank Road on Saturday night, Maine State Police Trooper Kyle Tilsley said.

The accident occurred at about 7 p.m. when the driver, Troy Miele, 38, of Peru, lost control of his 1979 Jeep Wrangler on a curve and struck an embankment. None of the Jeep’s occupants — Miele, passenger Adriane Miele (his sister), 44, of Hanover, and Sarah McLean, 27, of Rumford, — were wearing seat belts, Tilsley said. They suffered minor but not life-threatening injuries. The driver was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston; the two women were taken to Rumford Hospital.

The accident remained under investigation.
