AUBURN — Yvette F. Dallaire, 86, a resident of the Chapman House, 41 Pleasant Street, Auburn, and formerly of 8 Tampa St., Lewiston, died Friday, June 18, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn.

Born in Auburn on Aug. 13, 1923, she was the daughter of George and Eva Benoit Couturier. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School. In November of 1942, she married Joseph Dallaire, who passed away on Jan. 28, 2008.

For many years, she assisted her husband in the operation of Joe’s Train Shop, a model train store, first on Bates Street, then on Tampa Street in Lewiston. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish. She belonged to the Train Collectors Association. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included knitting, crochet, sewing, hooking rugs which will be treasured by her family, reading and gardening.

Survivors include a son, Gary and his longtime companion, Nancy Lundin, of Lewiston; two daughters, Arlene and her husband, David Green, of Palm Bay, Fla. and Sabattus, and Mona, and husband, Fernand Gosselin Sr., of Lewiston; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Maurice and Lorenzo Couturier.

Her family thanks the staffs of the Chapman House and the Hospice House for all the loving care they gave her.
