FARMINGTON — The Fairbanks School Neighborhood Association has announced the fourth annual Fine Art Auction, featuring and honoring local artists, on Friday, June 25, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The event will start at 5 p.m. with entertainment, hors d’oeuvres and the opening of the silent auction.
The live art auction will commence at 6 p.m. with local auctioneer Adrian Harris wielding the gavel and historian Paul Mills adding local lore. There will be approximately 50 artists with more than 100 items to be auctioned and many more art pieces in the silent auction. There will be paintings in a variety of mediums and subject matter, oils, watercolors, pottery, wood turnings, fine furniture, fabric art, certificates for portrait sittings and photography.
This year’s celebrity art is a signed CD by Carly Simon. Several Sawyer prints will be auctioned.
The auction is held to honor local artists and showcase their many talents. Proceeds will be used to continue to support the Fairbanks School with its community meeting room, Care and Share Food Pantry and LEAP.
Door prizes will be drawn and light refreshments and beverages will be available throughout the evening. Art will be sold by cash, checks, Visa and Master Card.
Admission tickets are available for $15 each, $25 a couple or a table of 8 for $90. Tickets can be purchased at Sugarwood Gallery, Davaney, Doak and Garrett Booksellers or the Calico Patch in downtown Farmington, or from Elena Barker at 778-4349 and Mary Frank at 778-4695.
