CAMDEN — On June 25, Camden National Bank will celebrate the bank’s 135 years of independent community banking. Customers are invited to come to the branches for refreshments and festivities. The branches joining in the event will include Lewiston, Farmington, Phillips, Rangeley, Portland, Kennebunk, Dover-Foxcroft, Greenville, Milo, Kingfield, Stratton, Madison and Bingham.

In 1875, Henry Alden made the first deposit at Camden National Bank. At that time, the bank was located in the back room of a five-and-dime in downtown Camden. That same branch continues to anchor Camden’s business district and is joined by 36 others across the state.

Employees of Camden National Bank will greet customers during branch hours on June 25 with fresh hot popcorn, cookies and punch.
