Miller Brothers’ 101 ranch wild west show made a hit in Lewiston Tuesday, being the largest, cleanest and best in every way show of its kind ever seen here. The broncos were wilder, the lariat throwing more skillful and feats of horsemanship more difficult and exciting than is seen in the ordinary run of wild west shows. The employees had a clean look. They didn’t appear to be the scum of the earth as do many showmen, but good, wholesome American citizens fresh from the western prairies.
50 years ago, 1960
An out-of-town mill will lease part of the idle Androscoggin Division of Bates Manufacturing Co. in Lewiston, it was reliably reported yesterday.
A source close to the developments said lease arrangements are in the negotiating stage at this time and that an announcement can be expected within the next few days.
There has been no official word on this from Bates Manufacturing Co.

BUCKFIELD — A new doctor’s office is set to open on July 1 that will bring doctor’s care to residents of Buckfield and surrounding areas.
The Nezinscot Valley Health Center, an affiliated project of Stephens Memorial Hospital, will open its doors with Norway area physicians expanding their practices to the new site. The Child Health Center of Norway will establish a pediatrics practice with service being offered by Dr. Stephen Bauer, Dr. W. Thomas Whitney and newcomer to the practice, Dr. Michael Woods.
It is expected that one or more physicians will join the health center at a later date.
